What is the Difference between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Among the most common questions regarding this kind of machinery is knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts. Each type of tire is particularly ideal for different needs.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, like tires on a vehicle. These kinds of tires are ideal for indoor usage but they are more effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Used mainly for indoor operations, the cushion tires are made just like a solid industrial tire. The tire will only be useful outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an alternative to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are called the drive tires. The steer tires or the back tires are particularly made for steering. Traction tires located on the rear of the forklift would simply wear out faster. Therefore, if you do have to work outside, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front will be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

When trying to know the main difference between the two tire types, it can be a bit difficult. They both work in the same outdoor situations such as gravel, and asphalt. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means they are durable and you cannot gouge, puncture and pop them. These tires are more costly compared to air pneumatic tires since they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for locations like for instance scrap yards and lumber yards where there may be plenty of sharp things and debris on the ground.

The pneumatic tire could be punctured accidentally. You could get flat tires from them when this occurs. Prior to utilizing a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails and by checking your work area. In the majority of applications, standard air pneumatic tires function great.
