Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
The audible devices like motion alarms or back-up alarms produce sound which has to be very loud in order to be heard above the sound which the forklift generates in the operating place.
The sound needs to be readily distinguishable from other audible devices or noises within the work environment. Sound should be readily distinguishable from other noise or audible devices within the work place. The audible device can end up contributing to OSHA noise limitation and to employee noise exposure; therefore, care needs to be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made harder due to the use of hearing protection. Audible devices can occasionally get disabled from both operators and employees since they could find them irritating. In addition, audible devices may also be objectionable to residents nearby.
Additional Operator & Application Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: Operator enclosed cabs help to protect the operator from the elements. They use tempered glass in order to prevent injuries. In addition, these cabs feature an emergency exit via removing the window. Noise levels are lessened at the operator's ear because of additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: The operator can choose the performance need for the specific use. Additionally, it allows a supervisor to set the model's maximum performance for an operator who is just learning. Being able to adjust and reduce the unit's utmost performance allows a new operator to learn the operating characteristics of the equipment in a controlled setting.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is deactivated, a supervisor is needed to activate and override the unit. This encourages the operator to be sure to manage the machinery in a more controlled manner.
Dual Rear View and Panoramic Mirrors: These mirrors serve as an aid to the operator in observing the tail swing area, as well as the operating environment behind the truck.
