Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machine while they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machinery designed particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
