Power Supply
There are four various ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is underneath the rear of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is located in the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all located in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the largest forklift components is the truck frame. This includes the counterweights located at the back which prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
